This gray-phase Eastern Screech Owl was hit by a car in North Bennington, Vermont in the final days of 2018.  After being secured by Fish and Wildlife he was transported to Fred Homer for evaluation and rehabilitation.  Unfortunately the damage to his left eye was severe and included a detached retina and significant damage to the iris and lens.  Sadly a one-eyed owl's chances of survival are very slim even if that owl is a fierce screech owl!
